MEET BELLA
#InHerShoes / 2021
Ok yes, our shoes are real cute, but what's even more cute and cool and stylish and inspiring are all the badass people in our shoes. So this year, we decided to pass the mic to some longtime supporters and CS connoisseurs, and asked them to help bring our shoes to life. The challenge? Style one shoe three different ways and tell us a little bit about yourself while doing it. The result? As expected, incredible.
Keep scrolling to see what Bella (@eesabp on IG) gets up to in our Kortman Lenus.
Who are you and what are you about?
I’m Bella- hiiiiiii! I work in retail! I’m all about quality time with people in my life, my dog, big books, cooking, and really good coffee!
Where are you from & where do you live now?
All over! I’ve moved my entire life- the places I’ve felt the most “At Home” have been Monterey, CA, and NYC, and where I currently live, Cincinnati, OH!
How did you find out about Charlotte Stone?
A friend was wearing a pair of Lilac Marlos and it was love at first sight! A soulmate in shoe form (or sole-mate, ha).
Describe your style in three words.
Playful, Colorful, Oversized.
What inspires you?
I think there is so much going on in my brain at any given moment, it’s hard to say!! I often find inspiration in art (it’s why I majored in Art History in undergrad!), but lately I’ve been feeling a major connection to color and texture in nature and in cities!
On an average day, you’ll find me in:
A big dress and cool shoes. Or big pants, a small tee, and cool shoes. But always cool shoes, and always cool earrings!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me:
At Haven Cafe in Covington, KY, devouring a vegan donut and iced oat milk latte.
What are you passionate about?
Solo dance parties!
It’s my go-to after a long day at work, when I’m feeling overwhelmed, or when I just want to move my body and work things out! My go-to song to dance and scream sing to is Little of Your Love by Haim!
Who or what inspires or influences your style?
Lately, I’ve been wearing things that would have appealed to five- year-old me, but fifteen-year-old me would have been too self-conscious to even THINK about wearing. Getting back and appealing to that inner child, ya know??
Do you have a style icon? Why are they your style icon?
LOVE love love @theabbybible, @abbyontheinternet and always @michellenorrisphoto ! I love the way they all use color and shape- there’s always so much to see in each part of their outfits. The inspiration is pretty endless and it challenges me to look at each piece in my closet in a different way every time I style it!
What are you watching or reading or hobbying right now?
I’m on a classic 90s rom com kick at the moment. I’ve also been reading modern retellings/interpretations of stories from Greek mythology and their characters (currently: Ariadne by Jennifer Saint).
What three things could you not live without?
Lemonade and red wine (yes, together!), fresh flowers, and my friends!!
What article of clothing are you living in right now?
A bright reddish-orange wide leg jumpsuit. Paired with a tee underneath, tied button down over, jacket, endless possibilities with it- and maximum comfort for days on the move!!
What “traditional” styling rule do you love to break?
The idea of “statement pieces”!
I tend to like my entire outfit to be a statement piece, so I’ve moved away from the idea that you can only have one “big” aspect of your outfit.
What is one weird fashion trend from your youth that you kind of wish came back?
Gaucho pants from elementary school- but big, wide leg pants are already on the rise again, so it’s a win in my book!
What is one thing about yourself people might be surprised to find out?
I majored in art history in college! Take me to an art museum and I can tell you anything about any piece and period it came from! I definitely tend to favor ancient art history- I have a photo album on my phone dedicated to photos of the backside of ancient statues. It’s called, “to all the butts I’ve loved before.”
