#InHerShoes / 2022

Ok yes, our shoes are real cute, but what's even more cute and cool and stylish and inspiring are all the badass people in our shoes. So this year, we decided to pass the mic to some longtime supporters and CS connoisseurs, and asked them to help bring our shoes to life. The challenge? Style one shoe three different ways and tell us a little bit about yourself while doing it. The result? As expected, incredible.

Keep scrolling to see what Rebecca (@beccaworewhat on IG) gets up to in our Camel Koris.

Who are you and what are you about?
I am a Canadian special education teacher who loves coffee, cheese and her rescue poodles more than anything. I love expressing myself though style, fun shoes and showing my students that they can be exactly who they want to be. Bonus points if they think an outfit is “weird”. Style is such a creative outlet for me, and a way for me to express my joy. Nothing better than happy shoes, sunshine, a latte and my dogs.

Where are you from & where do you live now?
I have lived all over the place! I was born in Ottawa but moved away as a baby. Then we lived in Calgary, Penticton, North Vancouver, and London Ontario. I went to highschool for a year in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil. Then I went to post secondary school in Ottawa, Ankara (Turkey) and Toronto. Now I am back in Ottawa. I both love this city and think it’s unfit for habitation in the depths of the winter.

How did you find out about Charlotte Stone?
I first saw the Paz boots on an Instagram friend. It was love at first sight. No shoe calls me more than a perfect boot.

How do your feet measure up in our shoes?
I definitely have wide, low-arched feet, so slides can be tricky, but my feet slide perfectly into the Kori's, and they are incredibly comfy. I could easily wear these for a full day!

Describe your style in three words.

Whimsical, quirky, layered.

On an average day, you’ll find me in:
Drinking a lot of coffee and being my silly self in the classroom. After work with my doggies always.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me:
Walking the dogs, camping or road tripping with my husband, or walking to get more coffee (and maybe donuts, okay definitely donuts).

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about education and making school a more fun and relevant and inclusive place. I also feel the same way about fashion!

Who or what inspires or influences your style?
I have made so many Instagram friends who have become real life friends that inspire me, I also try to really hone in on what feels right and good for me! But I find myself constantly saving posts from @readwritethrift @mystyleismybrand and @vibrantbeauty.

Do you have a style icon? Why are they your style icon?
Honestly in the past having an icon has made me feel bad about myself. So I try to avoid that for my own well being.

What are you watching or reading or hobbying right now?
I am hugely into podcasts; Maintenance Phase is my favourite. I am reading a few things right now Unsettling Canada by Arthur Manuel; What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat by Aubrey Gordon; and all the Bridgerton books (because why not).

What three things could you not live without?
Coffee. My dogs. Boots.

What article of clothing are you living in right now?
Anything mesh or sheer.

What “traditional” styling rule do you love to break?

I am not into the concept of flattering: so that.

What is one weird fashion trend from your youth that you kind of wish came back?
Oh god. None of it. Never ever do I want the low rise jeans with Abercrombie and Fitch tees to be back in style. No thank you!

What is one thing about yourself people might be surprised to find out?
I am fluent and Portuguese, very clumsy and have a lot of tattoos. Okay that's three!
