Meet our latest muse, Amber Vittoria, the Los Angeles-based artist/poet/author, aka talent personifed. Amber—an artist we can't get enough of right now—agreed to join forces on a pair of embroidered Tessies, and the result is a masterpiece. 🙃 Read on for more on Amber in her own words, wearing her very own CS x Amber Vittoria Tessies.

Hi Amber! Tell us about yourself and what you do and create!
Hello! I’m an artist, poet, and author working in Los Angeles, California. Through abstracted form, ribbons of color and joyous words, my work aims to represent the nuances of womanhood.

What inspired this collab with Charlotte Stone? And what drew you to Tessie?
The Tessie is my ideal boot - tall, but not too tall, has the perfect heel, and the perfect canvas to add a bit of ornament! The waves represent the paths we take in life, and how it is always best to flow with them.

How did you get started making art?

Drawing and painting is how I communicate best, especially as a child. It is what brings me the most joy in the world, so playing with art at home, from a young age, is how I began!

We love color and we know you do too. How does color influence your work + life?
Color can represent different emotions for different folks, which is why it is so important to my work. Color is used as a driver of narrative in my paintings, given they are abstract.

Where do you draw creative inspiration? Any mottos or advice for those who have a creative practice?
My creative inspiration comes from nature, so my motto is cheekily (and meme-like), “Go touch some grass.”

How would you describe your artistic process, and how did that help you design for the Tessie boot?
My process leans into exploration and experimentation. Given this piece is on a boot itself, that came in handy. Playing with how shapes will lay on the boot itself was incredibly fun.

What inspired you to write your book? What else are you looking forward?
Majority of my paintings have poems tethered to them, so the idea of a book felt natural! My hope is I can continue to create these books as time goes on.

What’s some advice you would give your younger self about creating and dressing?

Listen to the part of yourself that says, “I love this,” and ignore the rest.
